Tools and flow

So what tools do I use to draw the silly TWoP! comics? I know many are dying of curiosity to know (or not). Well, I'm going to share anyway.

I use a wacom intuos 4 graphic tablet (a lovely toy) along with a doodling program called Scribbles. Scribbles is simple drawing application with a neat and uncluttered user interface - it is unfortunately no longer supported by the developer. I start out by doodling the basics in Scribbles before exporting to another program for composition and coloring. The nice thing about Scribble is that it provides exporting to a number of resolutions, and the drawing can be scaled up without pixelation. I'm looking into alternatives though and possibly bringing the iPad into my workflow.

After exporting from Scribbles, I open up the drawing in Pixelmator (a graphics editor along the lines of Photoshop) for composition and coloring. I chop up the drawing and reposition the layers as necessary and then add color.

Exciting, isn't it? I'm looking into vector drawing alternatives and ways to streamline my workflow. I do recycle drawings when appropriate, and it's not like the TWoP! comics are complex works of art. But there's a lot of room for streamlining my workflow.

I hope everyone enjoyed another small glimpse into The World of Pei.
